FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY EVALUATIONS

The OIOC is a licensed facility for the administration of Physical The OIOC performs Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) for physicians, employers, case managers, insurance companies, ;lawyers, organizations, workers and individuals. FCEs can be utilized for vocational exploration, disability determination, pre-placement screening, return to work decisions, litigation case guidance, treatment guidance or to explore residual functional abilities.

The FCE conducted by the OIOC determines an individual's ability to perform physical work by conducting a physical work performance evaluation that consists of 36 tasks that are designed to objectively describe a person's maximum capabilities in the following seven major areas:

Dynamic Strength
Position Tolerance
Mobility
Coordination
Fine Motor
Balance
Endurance

The test may be administered in its entirety or individual tasks may be selected, depending upon the way in which test results are to be utilized.

The OIOC is a licensed facility for the administration of Physical Work Perform Evaluations (PWPE). The PWPE is a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) tool developed by Lechner etal, University of Alabama . The OIOC is a member of the ErgoScience Network which offers constant quality assurance protocols to ensure the validity of the reports. The PWPE is the preferred functional capacity tool among physical therapists around the world due to the comprehensive research conducted by ErgoScience that supports it reliability and validity.

Consequently, the functional capacity results reported by the OIOC are user friendly, accurate and will stand up to the most stringent scrutiny.
