The OIOC provides board certified specialty evaluation for musculoskeletal injuries and disorders through its on-site medical advisor, and its affiliations with the Spine Center of the Hospital for Joint Diseases Orthopaedic Institute and the Mount Sinai NYU Health system.

Jeffery Perry, DO is the Medical Advisor for the OIOC and is one of the many specialist physicians at the HJD Spine Center, which is an interdisciplinary Center of Excellence of the treatment of spine pain. Spine Center physicians comprise a portion of OIOC's specialist network that encompasses physicians and healthcare providers who have a particular interest in occupational injuries and the prevention of chronicity and disability.

For individuals with occupationally related injuries or disorder, the OIOC will work with corporate medical departments to ensure effective, immediate attention that minimizes time away from work and recurrence. In accomplishing this, the OIOC utilizes the Immediate Care Center of the Hospital for Joint Diseases, Emergency Rooms of the Mount Sinai NYU Health system, as well as the medical service expertise at the OIOC. Most importantly, throughout the process - from injury to return to work - the OIOC facilitates communication between the medical service providers and the corporate medical department.

Individuals may also schedule appointments for medical evaluations at the OIOC; when appropriate, referrals will be made for diagnostic procedures, specialist consultation, or physical therapy.

The main goal of OIOC's services is to return people to active lifestyles and work following a musculoskeletal injury or disorder.
