Physician Reference Manual The Physician Reference Manual describes medical conditions, illnesses or injuries that can affect an individual's ability to tolerate certain job requirements and work conditions. Material presented in this manual results from up-to-date medical and scientific knowledge. The occupational impact is described in the same terms as the job profiles. The manual contains medical profiles that describe the abilities and work conditions that may be compromised by the specific conditions. The Reed Project The Medical Disability Advisor(MDA), published by Reed Group, Ltd.(RGL), is a leading tool used to develop an optimal return to work strategy for injured workers. In conjunction with RGL., the OIOC has been instrumental in developing evidence based rehabilitation guidelines for the MDA, 5th Edition. An OIOC expert t3am, including physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and research scientists, surveyed the literature in order to develop best evidence treatment guidelines for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. In the absence of scientific evidence, the OIOC team reached out to rehabilitation world-experts for a consensus on optimal clinical practice for specific conditions. Each guideline was supported by a bibliography and when available, links to sources, to provide the reader full access to the supportive literature.
