The OIOC offers a comprehensive range of educational services in order to
instruct and train individuals in ergonomics, biomechanics and clinical theories
and practices that work to treat and prevent disability that may result from
work-related musculoskeletal ailments. These services address academic as well
as corporate, labor and practitioner needs through the dissemination of OIOC's
knowledge and expertise. The professors and trainers at OIOC are distinguished practitioners in the fields of ergonomics, human factors, biomechanics, physical sciences, engineering, medicine, physical therapy, health psychology, and epidemiology. They unite strong academic credentials and accomplished professional careers in the fields in which they teach, assuring the relevancy, currency and credibility of OIOC's educational services. Affiliated with New York University, the OIOC has a unique ability to influence the field of ergonomics and biomechanics for the prevention of disability. Through appropriate, quality education, disability caused by work-related musculoskeletal injuries and disorders may be prevented, improving the quality of life for workers.
