NY/NJ Occupational Safety & Health Education and
Research Center (OSHERC) July 1, 2005, the NYU Graduate Program of Ergonomics and Biomechanics (ERBI) joined the NY/NJ Occupational Safety & Health Education and Research Center (OSHERC), Region II of National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC ). This is a great opportunity for the ERBI program to be a member of NY/NJ regional universities centers with responsibility to "provide multidisciplinary graduate and continuing education programs in occupational medicine, occupational health nursing, industrial education programs in occupational medicine, occupational heath nursing, industrial hygiene and safety." These centers serve as regional resources for all those involved with occupational health and safety, including industry, labor, government, academic and the general public. NY/NJ OSHERC is the oldest of the 16 regional centers and consists of 5 universities: Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Hunter College School of Health Sciences, New Jersey Institute of Technology, New York University, and University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
